COMPELLING OPPORTUNITY FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO FULFILL ON THEIR PURPOSE, MAKE A MEANINGFUL DIFFERENCE FOR OTHERS, AND ADVANCE THEIR CAREER! The YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago, a 21st Century, business-savvy, social enterprise committed to “Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women,” is seeking a BILINGUAL THERAPIST based at our location at 2055 W. Army Trail Road, Addison, IL 60101. This non-exempt, full-time position reports to the Coordinator of the SEXUAL VIOLENCE SUPPORT SERVICES (SVSS) Clinical Program.

OVERALL PURPOSE:  Providing crisis intervention, short-term or long-term therapy and group counseling for children, adolescents and adult victims of sexual assault/abuse and their non-offending significant others. 


  • Provide individual and group short-term and longer-term sexual abuse/assault counseling/therapy
  • Facilitate group services and workshops for members
  • Deliver telephone and in-person crisis intervention, information, and referral as needed
  • Monitor member intake and caseload, conducting individual and group intake screening when appropriate
  • Willingness to engage in reflective supervision
  • Furnish advocacy referrals for members to legal, medical, & social services systems as needed
  • Perform data input and maintenance to ensure comprehensive, accurate recordkeeping to meet multiple funding sources requirements
  • Participate in clinical team meetings and in regular clinical supervision meetings
  • Establish and sustain community contacts to develop and advance the SVSS public presence and referral base 


  • Master’s degree- MA, MSW, etc. from an accredited college or university
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (oral and written)
  • Minimum of one – three years of counseling experience
  • Previous experience in working with trauma populations, specifically sexually traumatized individuals
  • Familiarity with reflective supervision
  • 40-hour certification in Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention training (or the ability to complete this initially upon hire)
  • Availability to work some evenings
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently, depending on the situations
  • Sound decision-making skills in emergency situations
  • Highly effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with client members and team members
  • Licensed or working toward becoming licensed as LPC, LCPC, LSW or LCSW
  • Basic skill level in MS Outlook, MS Office suite of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
