Vice President of Information Technology

POSITION TITLE: Vice President of Information and Technology

STATUS: Exempt, FT GRADE: 8 SALARY: $125k-$135k/yr

DEPT/PROGRAM NAME: Information of Technology REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer SUPERVISES: IT Manager


SUMMARY:

Manage operations and infrastructure of an IT team as well as devising strategies for long-term innovative impact. Play a key role to advance the mission of the YWCA of Metro Chicago, an iconic social enterprise committed to eliminating racism and empowering women. The VP of IT is a hands-on leader that has a proven track record of strategic thinking within the execution of IT, user/customer service support, project management of technology priorities and new system implementations across the enterprise.

This role will report directly to the CRO and be responsible for leading the IT department as well as establishing our centralized data operations function. This position will also work closely with senior leadership to develop technology policies and procedures to be administered throughout the company.


COLLABORATES WITH: All YWCA employees including the Executive Team; Resilience Team, Program and Functional Leaders; IT team; Volunteers; external agencies and vendors, and employer partners.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Build a service-oriented IT function that empowers staff to leverage IT for positive impact with fewer barriers.

  • Optimize IT department structure and staffing.
  • Recruit, manage, develop, and retain IT talent needed to support organization needs.
  • Develop user-friendly processes to support YWCA staff and partners.
  • Ensure all systems are performing optimally and minimize outages and offline time enterprise wide.
  • Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems.
  • Devise comprehensive IT policy and procedures.
  • Build and continuously evaluate key metrics for IT department performance. Lead Information Technology strategy.
  • Regularly evaluate and evolve the Enterprise System Architecture to meet needs of enterprise.
  • Translate organizational goals into actionable IT projects.
  • Coordinate evaluation and implementation of new technologies.
  • Maximize cost effectiveness of Information Technology with both a short- and long-term view.
  • Identify future challenges in the IT landscape and developing mitigation strategies. Manage Information Technology operations.
  • Ensure availability and reliability of enterprise systems, network services, and data.
  • Establish systems management plan Including administration, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Ensure appropriate security and compliance measures are implemented and enforced.
  • Formulate and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure effective use of IT resources through effective onboarding, training, and support.
  • Ensure that end-user service requests are addressed efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget.
  • Coordinate purchasing and contract management of IT equipment and services. Manage IT projects.
  • Prioritize projects and allocate IT resources.
  • Serve as program manager for enterprise technology projects.
  • Direct the sourcing and implementation of new software and hardware.
  • Manage and oversee all stages of the development lifecycle for new projects.
  • Manage vendor relationships including selection, and performance management.
  • Work to deliver all products on time and on budget. Manage data operations.
  • Manage the staff, processes, and technologies required to ensure that enterprise analytics are supplied with reliable, timely, and accurate data.
  • Partner with Data Analytics team to build data pipelines to support evolving analytics needs.
  • Manage impact of ongoing changes to organization’s system landscape and evolving business unit needs on data pipelines and analytics needs.
  • Continuously streamline and automate data operations.
  • Partner with Executive Team and business unit leaders to optimize the use of technology.
  • Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs.
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to optimize the use of information technology

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED: Other duties outside of the responsibilities of the position may be assigned, whether for a project, special needs task or other assignments.


QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects.
  • Understanding of computers, cloud operations, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, enterprise data operations, and analytics best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles.

· Preferably, familiarity with Microsoft technology stack including Office365, MS Teams, Azure, Dynamics365, and/or PowerBI.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: At minimum, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major area of study in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment includes offices. The noise level is usually moderate. Movement requirements include walking, stopping, or kneeling. There may be a need to reach or to lift

objects, such as packages or supplies. Communication needs include seeing, hearing, and speaking. While in the office, there will be periods of sitting, holding a telephone and using computers. Reasonable accommodations will be made for an incumbent to meet the essentials responsibilities of the position. Must be able to travel to all facilities.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday. This position may require work on some evenings and weekends. Schedule can vary depending on the needs of the agency.
